Daughters of Destiny is a Bible based program and is designed to build and maintain self-esteem, promote healthy relationships, (male and females as friends), promote self-worth, teach self-respect, use scriptures to heal past hurts, encourage girls to speak purpose into their lives, to set their goals high, and to remain pure until marriage. Each Daughter is assured that God has a special plan for their life and no matter what decisions they may have made in the past, they can begin anew.

Colors
The DOD colors are important, for they give meaning and visual distinction:
- Pink - represents love, the healing of emotions, honor, peace, affection, maturity, caring and nurturing.
- Black - represents strength, protection and cohesion.
Prayer
Prayer empowers one to accomplish the will of the Lord for ones life. Prayer will give victory in the many battles to be faced. Faith will grow as we hear the Lord in times of prayer. Strategies to defeat the enemy will be revealed in prayer. Growth is important! God wants to give us power to overcome all resistance and hindrances. This area of instruction should be consistent and true for the Daughters, Coordinators and Mentors.
Creed
I am a woman of color.
What makes me strong?
My heritage.
What keeps me standing?
My God.
What sustains my mind?
My quest for knowledge.
What if I can’t go on?
Not an option
What makes me beautiful?
My everything.
What makes me a woman?
My heart.
What empowers me?
Me.
Who says I need love?
I do.
Who am I?
I am a woman of color.
